Welcome to our website, as the old english greeting goes 'god, goodwill and good neighbourhood go with you'. We have a sociable and hard working association which in 1999 won the Party's best Campaign award. Join us and you join 1300 local families committed to keeping freedom and democracy alive.

At times our dreams of international peace and progress are shattered by mad unreason, racism and violence but we merely begin our task anew. Freedom, justice and democracy have prevailed across the world through the efforts and sacrifice of previous generations. Through the efforts of this generation peace and progress will continue to prevail throughout the world.

Credo. We believe in free enterprise, strong government but above all self government not big brother, traditional values (love of country, truth and self discipline) and strong defence and most importantly effective international diplomacy to establish peace and progress. Tit for tat retaliation in international economic and social matters is statemanship of the crudest kind and offers nothing but endless war. Conservatives are a cheerful bunch full of goodwill aiming to impart positive direction to local, national and international Government. We believe in individual reason and conscience. We believe in change not experiment. We dream in colour not in hopeless socialist grey.

The conservative spirit combines subjective political liberalism and the less articulate but strong running current of objective tory and conservative tradition. Conservatives are noted for personal care, humour, compassion, renewal and honesty. The result is preservation of our liberty through ordered freedom rather than licence and tyranny. To judge by the circulation of the Sun, Mail and Telegraph, and the Times newspapers most people are conservative in outlook.

Original politics. 'You must be the change you want to see in the world' said Ghandi. We are Conservatives who hold a torch of freedom and we want the world to come to see our ways.

Conservatives are:

RADICAL - originally nationalising the electricity industry to achieve national standards and denationalising in the 1980s. DECISIVE - reluctantly rearming Britain to face the menace of Hitler in the teeth of Labour opposition and firm supporters of NATO. PRUDENT - aiming to achieve 2.5% growth in the economy and 2.5% inflation while renewing and protecting the urban and rural environment. INTERNATIONALIST - taking the nations of Britain into a European Community in the teeth of Labour opposition yet opposed to political union as undemocratic. CAREFUL - legislating only to prevent one person harming another so legitimate personal and commercial activity is safeguarded and not discouraged. MERITOCRATS - those who say the Party is sexist and racist do so for political gain. If they cannot apply this tag to individual politicians how can they do so to the party? DEMOCRATS - who extended the franchise from the few to the many. HONOURABLE - looking to the national interest not sectional interests.

Conservatives top schools poll

The Conservatives have stormed to victory in a poll of 100,000 schoolchildren.

The dramatic result – announced Wednesday evening - followed four weeks of election campaigning in schools across the UK organised by BBC Newsround and Hansard.

Westminster commentators said it was the first major test of how the political parties have got across their message.

The poll showed the Conservatives ending up with the most seats, just ahead of Labour.

A Conservative spokesman said: ‘The Newsround election was a fantastic and worthwhile experience for all who took part and we are delighted that so many young people have endorsed William Hague’s common sense Conservative values.

‘We very much hope that in the real election we will receive the same endorsement from the British people.’

Hannah Parker, Chairman of Conservative Future, said: ‘This is a great result for the Conservatives. It reflects what we’ve been finding around the country, that young people are interested in politics and support William Hague’s common sense Conservative policies.

‘We are delighted that so many young people took part in Newsround’s election vote. We hope that they enjoyed themselves and that the experience will encourage them all to vote when they turn 18.’

Your views

However intelligent the debate, however straight we look into each other eyes and say what we really think, however hard we each look for the truth of a matter it comes down to answering a simple question yes or no. When we ask you your views and to trust us with your vote or maybe support our campaign with time or money we hope the answer will be yes!
